Wire
by: Corvette web central

Sounds like you need to start tracing the wire for a break back to the lights. Do you have 12v at the brake lights? If not start chasing the wire forward checking for power with the brakes depressed at every connection. Check for proper grounding at the lights also. This will require continuity checked with an ohmmeter. From the base of the light to a spot on the frame you should have .1 ohms or less.
