1998 C5 Service engine soon light?

A couple of times this week, the service engine soon light came on and when I stop and turn engine off and restart, all is fine. doesn't show any error or codes, just service engine soon. If something was really wrong, wouldn't it stay on after restart? Any ideas? Thanks

I suspect you have an intermittent fault that causes the issue and then resolves itself. Trying pulling the codes when the light is on. Pay particular attention to all codes that say current or "C"!
