96 coupe..both .headlights knocking when switched off???

WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS ARE SWTCHED OF ON MY 96 COUPE, THEY MAKE A KNOCKING SOUND FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. HOW CAN I REMEDY THIS???

Gears that operate the headlight movement are made of plastic and may be starting to strip out. Unless they have been replaced with metal ones already I would take off the motor covers and look at the gear condition. Good luck.
