Drive shaft support tube seams to be too short by one inch

I had engine and trans rebuilt. Machine shop is reinstalling components and the driveshaft support tube is not lining up. It is an 85 and in it's vast life someone has done something and has redrilled a hole to catch the last hole in the tail of the transmission. This has broken the last hole in the transmission. Has someone redrilled the support bar? or has the wrong support bar been used? Just bought as a project. Has a 350 tune port engine, and a 4 plus 3 manual / automatic trans
