Why does my gas gauge go to empty and a check gauges light go on in my 1998 corvette? I just went through the column lock bull crap with this car and have been tollerating the pull key for 10 seconds for a while . This frigen car is a freken lemon . any body want to buy it off me ? It only got 31k and its gorgeous looking but its a #@*&!! lemon. Please help me before i rap it around a pole and collect the insurance.

No dont wreck it!

We recommend Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner Chevron 67740 Techron Concentrate Plus Fuel System Cleaner - 12 oz.

This would be your first level of action.
Second would be to always use top tier gasoline see site http://www.toptiergas.com/retailers.html
Stay away from ethanol blends if possible. The alcohol is very corrosive.

And your final and really ultimate solution would be to replace the fuel level sensor in the LH tank. ACDelco SK1318 Fuel Level Sensor Assembly

Just remember to follow previous steps to stop the same thing happening to the new sensor.
