Operating temp

I have an 88 vette that is running hot. During the day it will go up to 220 to 230 plus on the highway but at night will not get over 205. I know it will run cooler at night but that is a big swing in temp. The car has a new water pump, belt,stat, and fan motor. Is this normal?

the cooling system is made to run that hot. The electric fans will not turn on until it reaches 220-230 degrees. This is a normal condition.

I had same problem and I ended up changing the Therm from a 195 to a 185 and this fixed issue.
