Roy Glover Performance Upgrade question

I have a stock 2003 50th anniversary Corvette, with approximately 35,000 miles. I purchased it a few months ago, and it is in excellent condition. It has the auto tranny and completely stock motor. I would like to boost up the HP a bit, and was wondering what type of inexpensive power adders I could install. I found this air intake system: Halltech Venom intake for 01-04 C5 Corvette; which I could buy for about $319. Would that be a good place to start, with cold air intake and a performance tune? My shifts are soft and hit a little harder when I get on it. I've heard a tune would take care of that. I would assume these two adjustments might get me 30 plus HP. I might go with a HP exhaust later, headers to exhaust tips, but can't afford that now.

Am I on the right track, and do you know anything about the Halltech system? I'm prone to go with a known for cold air, which is K&N, but this Halltech looked nice.

I'm not looking to race or tear my care up, I just want a little more get up and go.

Thanks for your help!

Roy:)
