Skunk Smell when running.

I have a 1998 coupe with 47,000 miles. I just had it in the shop and had the Serp belt replaced, tran fluid flushed and replaced, brake fluid flushed and replaced, new brakes all around, power steering fluid, radiator flushed, new battery, oil change, steering column repaired, regulators on both windows, internal temp sensor replaced, 2 new run flats on the front and a detail inside and out. Now my car smells like a Skunk when it's running and it smells like its coming from the engine compartment. Does anyone know what this could be? I asked the mechanics and no one knows and they all thought it smelled like a skunk. Help, it's making me crazy!!!

Skunk smell
by: Scott

I vaguely recall having the same condition occur on a customers car years ago.Very strange, but the smell was coming from the belt only when running. The serpentine belt was warm feeling and seemed "skunky" smelling after running for a few moments.I replaced belt with another brand-possibly Gates to G.M. and odor subsided.Sounds strange, but it worked.
