Thumping sound

Thumping sound comming from right rear wheel assembly after alignment. After the alignment there were no shims on one side of the trailing arm whereas before there were shims on both sides. The alignment was done after replacing the trailing arm bushings. Checked out the movement of trailing arm with no shims it acts like its in a bind . hard to slide the arm in and out. Any help please

Possible cause of thump noice rear of car NEW
by: Anonymous

Was rear asked lube changed. If so, was the correct amount of friction modifier added? A limited slip axle assembly can make a thump noise that seems like at wheel. Will happen most often when backing up and turning sharp causing differential between left and right rear wheels.

thumping sound

Thumping sound is gone----- After you read the post you will notice the aligning shop had all the shims on one side of the trailing arm. Before the alignment there were shims on both sides of the arm. I took the shims and put them back in like before alignment. The thumping sound disappered. Happy Yes Tires didnot wear before and dont now.
