1987 Corvette Interior light turning on and off on their own after we get out of the vehicle. Whats wrong?

1987 Corvette Interior light turning on and off on their own after we get out of the vehicle. Whats wrong? The lights are running my battery down every time that i charge it back up. I have taken it to a mechanic twice and he states that he thinks that it is a security proplem and puts the key inside of the driver side door and does something and it fixes it for a week or two then it does it again. If you have any information on what we could do please help. Thank you.
