1980 corvette electric choke light and no power to choke

by John
(Clemmons, NC)

Good evening All:

I have a 1980 corvette that is a toy.
The other night I was driving home and the choke light on the dash came on and stayed on the entire time. So, I rebuilt the alternator (diodes, brushes, etc). The choke light will does not come on at all now and I have no power to my electric choke with the switch in the on position. Is there a choke relay on this model car? I have check all of my fuses and they show to be good. Any suggest or answers would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You in Advance,

John

It sounds like you need a new switch, and i don't think you can do it your self. I don't know where you live ,but here in Ca their are key places in parking lots and you go their or have them come to you and they take the steering wheel off and everything below that to get to the key . It won't be cheep .When i had mine done a few years ago it cost me $100 dollars. Good luck .
