1980 Corvette

I have to jump start the car anytime I drive it, and I could drive for as long as I want, but when I turn the car off it doesn't start back up. The only way to start up again would be to jump start it. I have even jump started the car, drove it for a couple of hours and turned it off; while turning off I took the positive and negative cables off of the battery. This process has worked a few times but in all seriousness this is not a resolution because this isn't a sure thing. Can anyone this me the problem.

Starter heat soak problem? NEW
by: Anonymous

You may have a heat soak problem with your starter like I did with my 1980 Vette. Replaced it with a starter from Summit and starting problem solved.
