Update C5 Error Codes
by: Steve

So after two months of reduced power, TCS/EBCM? Chec engine lights and a ton of error codes I decided to start with the basics. Discovered air cleaner was original 20yrs old. MAF sensor was black with dirt. TB had a lot of varnish and black burned on dirt. TBPS was dirty inside and brushes were out of alignment. Pulled and cleaned/replaced TB, MAF and air cleaner. Also found lose negative battery cable. Have taken 4 30mi drives with no problems and car is running very good.

Error Codes
by: Steve

A little more info on my C5 error codes. The car is a one owner. I have put 3k on it in the past two months. Several road trips. I did a lot of research after I bought it. I pulled the codes after I purchased it. Here they are P1431,C1243,C1255, B2860. They were all History codes.

The most relevant code is C1243 and relates to the ABS module. More infor can be found at the link.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c5-tech/2926213-abs-stalled-motor-code-c1243-best-fix.html

The "B" codes are seat and side window codes that are not relevant and probably historical.

The next interesting code is P1125 which is the accelerator pedal position fault. Its possible this is an issue. It could have been related to the downhill but only time will tell.

We recommend to keep driving the car and see what codes come back if it happens again. Never hurts to check the codes weekly so you know whats new and old.
