Can a 2005 6 speed transmission be swapped with a 2006?

Hi,
I’m rebuilding my engine and wanted to replace my manual transmission.
It has been nearly impossible to get into reverse( lockout solenoid is ok) and the battery will die if I can’t get it into reverse.
Can I swap it with a 06-07 transmission?
If so are any changes necessary, it’s a 2005 6.0l corvette convertible.
