Car "chokes out" if I drive it.

by Bobby T

I have a 1976 stingray. It will start but when I go to drive it and give it some gas it will choke out and it's hard to keep it running. I did have a "friend" supposedly rebuild the motor because of a blown piston rod and then he put on and Edelbrock air filter, the carburetor I did have to replace the carburetor because of some bad gas that was ran through it. Ideas?

Sounds to me like your float in your carb is stuck
open from the bad gas . You half to take the top off your carb and check your needle valve to see if it's working and then change the in line filter
where your gas line screws into the carb.
