clips mounted on side of oil pan

I bought a 1977 corvette with a manual transmission and 39K original miles. Mounted to the passenger side of the oil pan are clips for the automatic transmission fluid lines. Was the original motor in this car replaced with one from an automatic car or were all the motors built with these clips and only used if an automatic transmission was installed? The stamp pad on the front of the engine matches the VIN.

"This website is a passion of mine just as much as being a Corvette owner," says Chris.  He was frustrated trying to find information on the internet about Corvettes which was was not biased or influenced somehow.

He has owned three Corvettes over the last twenty years and does not plan to stop owning one anytime soon.
