drive side mirror does not stay in memory position

My 2004 corvette driver-side mirror does not stay in the memory position.
If the mirror is moved for another driver it will not go back to the memory
position, it goes to an up or down position.

The first thing I recommend is to check for codes in the body control module. This can be done through the DIC. Once you check this it will be easier to determine your next steps.
