Driver side brake light is dim or out

by Kristoffer Underwood

I have a 1976 Corvette. The drivers side brake light turns on when pressing the brake pedal, but when it lights up it's really dim. And just a few minutes ago someone riding behind me pulled around me and told me that my brake light was out. When I got home, I checked and yup it was. What is it and how can fix it.

Check the ground
by: Rick

Pull the taillight lens off and the bulb connector. There should be three wires on the back of the connector. The black one is the ground, it's probably not making a good connection either at the socket or where it is grounded.

Hope this helps.

Brake lights dim
by: Jose

I had the same problem and it turned out to be the light bulbs. I replaced them with new ones and it fixed my problem.
