extended crank after sitting for an extended period of time.

76 corvette 350, rochester q-jet. i don't think i have a fuel leak, with 3 pumps of gas pedal cold starts would crank for 8-9 revs before it caught. Once its has started and you turn it if its a tap of the key and it fires right up. haven't dug too deep into diag. checked the timing, checked the carb adjustments. I am looking for an easy starting corvette...

sounds like fuel liking out of the float bowl these carbs were known for this after sitting fuel rus out of float bowl into manfoild`that is why after 8 9 crakks iit wil start because the fuel pump which runs off the cam shaft is know filling float bowl back up has carb been rebuild if not might be time when caris warm and you turn the key starts wright up fuel stil in float bowl let me know how you made out
