gas tank vent value

1. Both my C-5 2004 and C-6 2005 say the gas tank vent valve is not working, how do I find and replace this value.

2.Is their a recall on this I have 2 cars different yrs, with the same problem?

Thanks I'll see if they have it to read up. Yes the gas caps are tight

I'd go online look up the problem,or go to the libary to look thru the chilton,hayes,or whatever they have ,it should give a photo & location. If it were a recall You'd be notified by GM.Are you tightening the cap?
