Generator light on when engine Is not hot

by David Ross

The light is off when just started, but goes quite low seconds after, and stays lit untill
car is warmed up. This is a 1979 Corvette- 350.

Generator light on when engine Is not hot

I have a 78 Vette with a L-82 350. It showed 41k on the odometer but I think it was that PLUS 100k so I decided a self restoration was in order. I have rebuilt or replaced every moving part in my car including the entire drive train. Even though I had a new alternator it developed a GEN light that stayed on even with the ignition turned off. When I took my alternator to the alternator rebuild shop the expert bench tested it and found the internal relay stuck in the on position. If you have any other questions I'd be happy to give you my opinions. Here is a link to all my restoration pictures.
