hp question

Why does my 1975 Corvette shift console say 350hp, when the VIN number says it has 185hp? Everything seems to be factory on the car. The console says 350ci,350hp,385ftlbs torque,11/1 ratio, but the 5th symbol on VIN is a J.

I would look over your motor and see if it is modified. Check head and block numbers and take valve covers off to see if it has ben modded before assuming the po just put a poser tag on for kicks.

Different Plate
by: daniel

It is because there are companies like mid america, corvette central and ecklers that sell reproduction ID Plates for custom jobs..As in my case, I put a 350HP New GM crate motor in the car.. I haven't yet, but will get one so it matches the car.
