I installed a Vintage air system in my 1972 small block corvette. What should be the normal operating temperature? Before the installation it ran at about 180 degrees.

fan blades & how many?
by: Auto Appraiser * Ned

let me guess it runs hot with the air on.....a 72 vette without a/c has a different number of fan blades and a smaller fin/core radiator than one with a/c.
check how many fan blades you have now...and compare it to a factory spec fan blade with a/c... is the clutch fan is working properly...should use a 7 blade fan I believe for a/c factory fan....and see what that does....then look to thicken the radiator heavy duty core...or a/m aluminum one. hope this helps.

Electric fan
by: Anonymous

You may need to install an electric fan to help with cooling. The added condenser only aggravates an already poor cooling system.
