new gauges for 1975 vette don't seem to work properly.

Bought new gauges for my 1975 vette from Ecklers.

Fuel gauge reads 1/2 tanks yet i ran out of gas??

Water gauge reads 100 but should read around 190?

Oil pressure gauge reads 80PSI which is the top of the gauge?

Ammeter in the center for "0"?

Could there be a short in the center console that is causing these problems??

I had the same issue with a slightly newer vet. I found a simple loose ground wire. Good luck.

New Gauges NEW
by: Anonymous

Just found out that original gauges needed a "resistor" on the back of several gauges but upon ordering new gauges - the instructions did not say "DO NOT USE RESISTORS" because the are built into the new gauges - so if you are having problems - remove the resistors.
