No fey fob detected

Arriving home from Carlisle I stopped 2011 c6 in front of garage to unload. Engine off. Then pulled it into garage. Now will not detect either key fob. Replaced battery in one key fob still no work. Nothing inside garage has changed since we left. When using key to open trunk horn & lights flash. Battery cables tight With fob in glove box slot engine starts everything works. Shutting off engine it asks off or run With door open holding down lock/unlock buttons for 5 secs will allow me to unlock door when closed but thats it. Second fob will not open door. Live in country with no houses or traffic near Help What has happened here?
Thanks. Ron

Another Solution NEW
by: Anonymous

I had this problem with my C7 today. Both Fobs would not work with doors or be recognized to start vehicle. I would get the dash message to put the Fob in the Fob pocket, but I had no idea where that was. Turns out that there is a small cavity on the right hand side of the steering column that the Fob will fit into; I never saw it in the 3 years that I owned this Vette. Placed the Fob into the pocket and the car started. I don't know if this solution was in the owners manual, but the glove box automatically was locked so I could not check it out anyway. I never had this problem in the years that I have owned the car, 6500 miles. I also keep it garaged and on a trickle charger, and the battery measured 12.3 volts today. Weird, but happy ending.

Ron,

Thank you for your submission and sorry to here about your ending to a fabulous trip. Unfortunately it appears both the batteries were dead in your Key FOB's and the programming may not work. I have outlined the procedure in the owners manual below. You can attempt this to resolve your issue but it may take a trip to the dealer. They will be able to recover the lost programming for your Corvette. I wish I had better news but at least this keeps our cars from being stolen.

L (Panic): Press to sound the
horn. Press any other button on
the RKE transmitter to stop it.
The vehicle comes with
two transmitters. Each transmitter
will have a number on top of it,
"1" or "2." These numbers
correspond to the driver of the
vehicle. For example, the memory
seat position for driver 1 will be
recalled when using the transmitter
labeled "1," if enabled through the
DIC. See "Memory Seat, Mirrors,
and Steering Wheel" under Power
Seat Adjustment on page 3‑3 and
Vehicle Personalization on
page 5‑55 for more information.
Programming Transmitters
to the Vehicle

Only RKE transmitters
programmed to this vehicle will
work. If a transmitter is lost or
stolen, a replacement can be
purchased and programmed
through your dealer.

The vehicle
can be reprogrammed so that lost
or stolen transmitters no longer
work. Each vehicle can have up to
four transmitters programmed to it.
Programming with a Recognized
Transmitter

A new transmitter can be
programmed to the vehicle when
there is one recognized transmitter.

For vehicles sold in Canada, two
recognized transmitters are required
to program a new transmitter.
1. The vehicle must be off.
2. Both the recognized and new
transmitters must be with you.
3. Insert the vehicle key into the
key cylinder located above the
license plate.
4. Open the hatch/trunk.
5. Turn the key five times within
five seconds.
6. The DIC displays READY FOR
FOB #2, 3 or 4.
7. Place the new transmitter in
the glove box transmitter pocket
with the buttons facing the
passenger side.
8. A beep sounds when
programming is complete.
The DIC displays READY FOR
#3 or 4, or MAXIMUM NUMBER
OF FOBS LEARNED.

If I can be of any more assistance please let me know I will be here to help until you have your problem resolved.

Regards,
