replaced starter, starter does not start,,, :)

Replaced starter, because it was free wheeling, replaced, wit a new one from NAPA, wires are correct (took picture before taking apart. all was put back together like it was before, just a new starter. I have a new battery too....Now, when I put the key in the start position, the interior lights dim, but nothing happens, no clicking, and no sounds what so ever.... I'm stumped.... any ideas? please help point me in the right directions... I got a new ignition switch, but before I tear the steering colimn apart, I want to make sure I'm not over looking anything.... thank, Jim
