how to determine if problem is in mirror or cable etc.

In our own project car we found that the mirror was the problem. Upon wiggling of the harness at the mirror we found that the lights started working and the dim function green light illuminated with the headlights on. Try checking this first. Next check the basics like fuses. If that is good check for 12v at the mirror when the door is open. If you have 12v the mirror is bad. Our mirror had a bad circut board section.
