battery drain- 2006 c6 auto

My vette was in storage for the winter,with a trickle charge plugged into the ashtray outlet.

This week I went to remove it from storage and it would not start the battery was dead,purchased a new battery installed it every thing came on ,but still would not start,jumped it with my friends car still nothing.

Flatbeded it to the local gm dealer,where after it was unloaded, gave it another shot and it fired up.Whats up any one have some ideas.
