C6 Manual -- Transmission noise when coasting down, in 2nd especially.

Operating the car is mostly quite fine. Accelerates great and smooth, gears shift smooth. All in all very nice ride.

Just that a few weeks ago I was coasting down in 2nd at very low speed (10 or less than 20 mph) and there was a bit of a noise from under the shifter. I can now repeat it regularly. Also at very very low speed in 1st, and maybe in 3rd, but harder to tell. My solution for now is to avoid engine braking (slowing down in gear, coasting down). I use brakes a little more. What could this be? 61,500 miles, blue 2011 GS.

Same started on my 2006 manual 66,000 miles
by: Dave

Bought my 2006 Corvette 6 spd manual new. Same coast down humming / moan in 2nd gear started recently seems to change pitch with engine speed. Hoping just needs to change the transaxle fluid. Hasn’t been changed since the GM service bulletin back in 2007. Dealer says if it’s the pilot bearing its $2100. GM-retired engineer.
