Car dies

(Hot Springs Village, AR)

1999 C5 corvette died after starting 3 times after I put it in gear. The I started it and revved it up a few times and it drove fine for about 5 miles. It died at 45 mph. I coasted in neutral to 30 mph and restarted it and it drove fine another 5 mile to home. In the garage it started 3 times and did not die. It has 55K miles and a interstate battery that is about 8-9 months old. What could be the problem?
