Code B1537

The reset switch on my 98 does not work and does not seem to be stuck. I get a code B1537 "switch 6 (reset) short to ground". Does this mean that the switch has failed or could there be some other issue that needs to be examined? I have no idea how to troubleshoot this problem. Anyone have a similar issue?

Changed the switch and the code was not cleared, still showing a short to ground somewhere in the circuit.
