Coolant Temperature

by Carl Cramer
(Westmoreland NY)

I am a bit concerned...my 95 coupe runs between 205 and 207 coolant temperature, outside temperature about 80 degrees. It has climbed to 213 to 218 at a stop light and than down to 209 in less than 1/2 mile leaving the stop light. Not use to this high temperature. When ambient temperature is higher is makes my vette temperatures higher. Am I OK!???

Bigger Puller Fan= Lower Idle Temps
by: Anonymous

I have a 87 had problems running hot problems, ran around 220 sometimes, replaced puller fan rated for 3000cfm vs stock 1700cfm, after that my vette runs around 195℉ or 205℉ in 100° weather. 195 thermostat. Hope this helps.

High C4 temp.
by: Anonymous

I have an 88 C4. I have reconditioned everything the was showing ware. On one of my recondition projects I replaced the water pump. During this project I polished and refinished everything I removed to reach the pump before reassembly. I wanted to refinish the radiator top panel and when I removed it I was amazed at the amount of leaves and debris I found between the radiator and AC condenser. After putting it all back together again my operating temperature dropped. Don't know if the 94s have the same radiator configuration, here are the pictures from my water pump project.
