Dash lights won't go off battery saver message on dashboard display

Battery went dead over the last days of winter and I asked a friend to hook up my charger to the battery at 10amps for one and one half hours. Now the dash lights stay on, l'm locked out of the car the battery still seems to o be dead and 3 messages come up below the speedometer. Battery Saver Mode, Low Fuel and one other. If anyone can help with this l would appreciate it . Thanks Spig 2007 model year. PS Do you think my friend could have hooked the charger clamps to the wrong battery terminals?
