heat stop working then came back on

I started the car up and drove it to my destination. Once I reached my destination I turned the car off. When I started the car up again and drove it. My heat wouldn't come on or a/c as I continued to drive the heat and a/c started working on its own. What could have caused that problem. I have an 09 c6 ls3 corvette base model coupe.
