I have a 1988,when it gets hot wont start unless i flore it.

A 1988 starts good when cold but drive to store and wont start unless I hold the gas peddle all the way down.Sometimes it dies when I let up but if I pat the peddle it will idle at 1500 until I put it in gear then it dies unless I pat the peddle and get it rolling and give it some gas when I stop.(hot) temp.varies from 140-200.
