Service column lock
by: Anonymous

What you have my friend is an on going problem with C5's.Look up service column lock in the forum and join us frustrated C5 owners.Get in touch with Corvette Center in Newington Ct.They use a bypass not made by chevy and they say it will never burn out on you after 1000 or so starts like the chevy junk parts do and leave you stranded.what happens is the computer thinks your steering wheel is still locked and that it needs to shut off the fuel pump so you won't drive off and crash.Read my forum page called the service column lock bull crap for more info.now alls I get every now and then is the pull key for 10 seconds and at least that won't leave you stranded.good luck

Recall
by: Corvette-web-central

If you have not already figured out there is a recall from GM for this problem. It should be fixed for free. Just contact the dealer and give them your information. If its not covered there are aftermarket bypass that do the same thing. One of them is listed at this link.

Check out this kit Bypass Kit for C5 Corvette.
