Oil pressure gauge problems

by Mike Knuckles

Just bought 2001 corvette convertible noticed analog oil pressure gauge was pegged at 80psi the on board computer said 130psi so I asked the dealer to look into this problem. They did and told me they changed the sending unit it lasted about 3 days running at 41psi at idle to 50psi running down the road and then after 3 days it went back to pegged at 80psi and 130psi on the computer. what to do?

sensor

I am having the same problem. after a lot or web searching and a confirmation from a local vette expert I was told it is the oil pressure sensor. this part is located behind the intake manifold backed up to the fire wall.the book says you must remove the intake manifold to replace it but some people have done it without removing the manifold.attached is a link to a u-tube how to video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PvlDLcyXX8)I haven't tryed it yet but i am thinking about it.

Good Luck
