Reset Change Oil Light

How can I turn off the CHANGE OIL light on a 1996 Corvette WITHOUT using the normal method of using the Trip Monitor / ENG MET buttons on the display?
They are broken

Turn on ignition key (do not start engine), press accelerator pedal three times within several seconds, then turn key off. Turn key back on and start engine, should now be reset.

Take neg cable off 10 seconds then re install
