Runs fine w/SES light on, Dies when SES light goes off

Have 1991 Corvette L98 engine, replaced fuel injectors, Distributor, ECM, IAC, TPS...now vehicle starts and runs for about 5 minutes with the Service Engine Soon light on, then the Service Engine Soon light goes off and car will die. It will restart with foot held to the floor on accelerator but will then die when I let up on the accelerator. I have a code reader/scanner that does OBDI but it tells me that there is no communication with the ECM.
