Thumping noise in 1994 Vette toward front when battery reconnected

I recently reconnected the battery in my 1994 Corvette and heard a thumping noise in the front headlight areas. Now when I turn the headlights on and off, they open and close in the correct positions, but make several loud thumping noises for a few seconds afterwards. Any idea why this is happening?
