C1 VIN Data
by: WR Severance

Unfortunately the VIN for C1 cars really only tells you the production date within a day or 2. The transmission will have the VIN on it as well as the frame. The engine will have VIN numbers on it as well, but not the entire VIN. The VIN says nothing about engine transmission, colors, options. Soo you can run any combinations of those offered in 1962 you wish and no one can tell you its incorrect for the car. If you go through your casting numbers and dates you may be able to figure out what it came with.
